ITEM DETAILS

The Rotonda Orange-Purple is an ethereal masterpiece, a unique sculptural table lamp inspired by the floor plans of Renaissance villas. This version features a captivating sand-effect texture within the resin, with colors that transition from a deep purple to a warm orange, creating a luminous, sunset-like glow.

A Luminous Sculptural Table Lamp

This is more than a lamp; it is an object of functional art. As a premier sculptural table lamp, its beauty lies in the dialogue between the translucent, colored plates and the crystal resin bulb, all performing a weightless balancing act. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation, a testament to the unique character of its handcrafted process.
Handmade in Italy by master artisans, the Rotonda is an investment in contemporary collectible design. It is a statement piece for the discerning collector or architect who values the intersection of historical inspiration, innovative materials, and flawless execution.

DESIGNER

Adrian Cruz

Adrian Cruz is a Mexican architect and designer whose work bridges memory, material and light. Born in Mexico City into a family with a pioneering history in resin, he grew up surrounded by the translucent objects his grandfather Chema created in his small atelier.

These early encounters with encapsulated flowers, insects and glowing resin forms left a lasting impression, shaping his fascination for transparency, illusion and material expression. After studying architecture at the University of Florence, he discovered that those childhood objects still lived in his mind, waiting to be reimagined through contemporary design. Today he uses the sophisticated techniques inherited from Chema, combining resin with onyx and marble to create refined sculptural lighting and collectible design objects.

Cruz’s work reflects a dialogue between Mexican heritage and European architectural influence. His collections draw from Renaissance geometries, pre Hispanic symbolism and the vivid colors of Mexican urban landscapes. Through hand cast crystal resin spheres, gradient plates and stone pedestals, he creates pieces that play with translucency, balance and light. Each object is crafted in collaboration with master artisans in Mexico, preserving ancestral techniques while advancing contemporary craftsmanship. His designs, including Bulbe, Rotonda, Tona and Tallo, highlight the connection between memory, culture and material purity.

Now based between Brussels and Mexico, Cruz continues to develop a practice that merges architecture, artisanal technique and collectible design. His pieces have gained international recognition through exhibitions, publications and global collectors, positioning him as a distinctive voice in the evolution of resin based sculptural lighting.
