From 30 September to 10 October 2026, International Design presents Cosmic Sound at Nômade Ibiza, its inaugural exhibition exploring the relationship between sound, design, space and emotion.
Presented at Nômade Ibiza in collaboration with Soleille Gallery, Cosmic Sound brings together DJ consoles, speakers, listening systems and sound sculptures conceived as collectible design.
The exhibition explores how objects associated with listening and performance can transcend function to become sculptural works, shaped by craftsmanship, materiality and artistic intent. Sound becomes part of the space itself.
Cosmic Sound approaches sound as a spatial and emotional experience. Design, technology and music converge within an immersive environment where each object contributes to the way sound is perceived, experienced and inhabited.
Through this dialogue between form and performance, International Design presents a new perspective on the cultural relationship between contemporary design and sound.
THE CURATION
The curation brings together works selected for their ability to move naturally between function, sculpture and cultural expression. Each piece reflects a distinct approach to sound through material, form, craftsmanship and technical innovation.
Rather than following a single aesthetic language, the selection creates connections between different practices, generations and interpretations of contemporary sound culture.
At the heart of Cosmic Sound is the idea that the objects through which we experience music deserve the same attention as the music itself. Their proportions, surfaces, construction and presence all participate in shaping the act of listening.
The exhibition therefore considers each work not simply as equipment, but as a collectible object carrying the vision and identity of its creator.
A LIVING ENVIRONMENT
Cosmic Sound is conceived as a living exhibition, where the relationship between the works, the architecture and the people inhabiting the space evolves throughout the residency.
Rather than separating the objects from their surroundings, the exhibition allows them to exist within a real social environment, creating new encounters between design, music and everyday experience.
As visitors move through the space, listening becomes both individual and collective. Objects are discovered from different perspectives, activated through sound and experienced through proximity, movement and conversation.
This continuously shifting environment gives the exhibition a temporal dimension, allowing each visit to reveal a different relationship between object, space and audience.
THE PROGRAMME
Throughout the exhibition, a series of carefully curated moments will bring the space to life, creating new encounters between sound, design and the people experiencing them.
Selected gatherings will create opportunities for artists, designers, collectors and guests to experience the exhibition in changing contexts throughout its residency.
The programme will extend from the opening through to the closing of the exhibition, combining selected music moments and intimate experiences within Nômade Ibiza.
Further details, participating artists and individual programme moments will be announced progressively across International Design and its partners’ channels.

ABOUT COSMIC SOUND
Cosmic Sound inaugurates International Design’s international exhibition programme, translating its curatorial approach from the digital platform into a physical environment.
The exhibition reflects a broader ambition to create encounters around collectible design that connect objects with culture, context and the communities that surround them.
Through exhibitions, private moments and curated collaborations, International Design extends the experience of collectible design beyond acquisition alone.
Cosmic Sound marks the beginning of this programme, creating a physical meeting point between designers, collectors, creative communities and new audiences in Ibiza.
