The studio’s identity is rooted in Greek heritage, drawing from ancient geometry, symbolic motifs and the golden ratio. Karvounis and Philippa refine these references into contemporary forms, distilling symbols and structures into essential lines and balanced volumes. This approach creates pieces that are grounded in history yet distinctly modern, offering interiors a sense of clarity, presence and timelessness.

Their work emphasizes understatement, using natural materials such as bronze, wood and marble with minimal adornment. Crafted by hand and guided by rigorous research, ANAKTAE’s pieces embody the studio’s belief in simplicity, proportion and atmosphere. The founders bring complementary expertise to the studio. Dianna Karvounis, trained at Sarah Lawrence College and Pratt Institute, previously developed furniture and lighting for international clients and luxury hospitality brands. Vivian Philippa, educated at the National Technical University of Athens, brings a background in theatre design, museum spaces, historical restoration and landscape projects. Together they craft environments and objects that blend classical symbolism with contemporary refinement, establishing ANAKTAE as a distinctive voice in Greek and international collectible design.
