Artefactos: Objects That Refuse Their Category

Lørdag & Søndag does not produce furniture in the conventional sense. Their Artefactos occupy the space between sculpture, vessel, and functional object, pieces that ask to be read before they are used, that carry a formal logic rooted in Mexican archaeological tradition and executed through the hands of master artisans.

Each piece is produced in close collaboration with artisan communities, ensuring that traditional techniques, wicker weaving, stone carving, brass work, remain active rather than archived. The studio celebrates Mexico's material richness not through nostalgia but through formal invention: ancient methods, unexpected shapes, objects that transcend the boundaries of time and space.

Traditional techniques. Unconventional forms. Objects that carry the memory of a culture without belonging to its past.

Featured in Architectural Digest México, MANERA Magazine, and exhibited from New York to Mallorca, Lørdag & Søndag represents a generation of Mexican studio design that positions craft not as decoration but as conceptual practice. Each Artefacto is a collectible design object with guaranteed cultural provenance, handcrafted in Mexico, conceived for collections that understand the difference between what is made and what matters.
